1. Introduction

This policy describes how SmartBet AI collects, uses, and protects information when you use our football predictions and analytics platform. We keep only what we need to provide the service, enforce access limits, and keep your account secure.

2. Data we collect

Account data. When you register we collect your name, email address, and a password (which we store in hashed form). We use this to create and manage your account and to identify you when you sign in.

Authentication and session data. When you log in we issue an authentication token. The app stores this token in an HTTP-only cookie so you stay signed in. We do not use this cookie for tracking; it is used only to authenticate your requests. Session duration and cookie settings (e.g. secure in production, same-site) are configured to reduce the risk of unauthorised access.

Usage-related data. To apply access limits (for example how many fixture details you can view per day on a free plan), we record which fixtures you have viewed and when. This data is used only to enforce your plan limits and to operate the service; we do not use it for advertising or selling to third parties.

3. How we use your data

We use the data above to: provide the service (account, login, predictions, dashboard); enforce tier limits and access rules; maintain security and prevent abuse; and respond to support or legal requests where necessary. We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your data for third-party advertising or marketing in the current version of the service.

4. Cookies and similar technology

We use a single session cookie (e.g. smartbet_token) to keep you logged in. This cookie is HTTP-only (not readable by client-side scripts), is set to be sent only over secure connections in production where applicable, and is limited in scope and duration. We do not use cookies for tracking or advertising. If you disable or clear cookies, you will need to log in again.

5. Third-party services

The service relies on backend systems and, where applicable, third-party data providers (e.g. for match and league data). Those providers process data according to their own policies. We do not currently integrate third-party analytics or advertising scripts into the main user-facing app. If we add such services in the future, we will update this policy and describe them here.

6. How we protect your data

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data: passwords are hashed, sessions use secure tokens and HTTP-only cookies, and we restrict access to personal data to what is needed to operate the service. No system is completely secure; we will notify you and regulators where we are required to do so if a breach affects your personal data.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal data, or to object to or restrict certain processing. You can contact us to exercise these rights. We will respond within a reasonable time and in line with applicable law. To close your account or request deletion of your data, email us at the address below.

8. Data retention

We retain account and usage data for as long as your account is active and as needed to operate the service and comply with legal obligations. When you close your account or request deletion, we will delete or anonymise your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain it for legal or legitimate operational reasons.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the service after changes indicates acceptance of the updated policy. For material changes we may provide additional notice (e.g. by email or a notice in the app) where appropriate.
